In Prospect Park, just off the path, a cherry tree stood in full bloom. I sat beneath it for a long while. Around me, people were stretched out on blankets, toddlers stumbled through the grass, and the city felt unusually quiet. I focused on a single branch overhead, and the heavy trunk beside me—on how the blossoms hung like breath, and how the bark carried years of weather.

Made with brush, ink, and watercolor, this drawing holds both delicacy and weight. It doesn’t aim to describe the tree exactly. It’s how it felt to be under it, with time to look.

An Act of Looking
Part of the Three Paper Project, this piece was drawn on-site in a single sitting. One sheet of paper. No revisions. The idea is to notice first, then draw. It’s less about getting it right, more about being there.

For Spaces That Welcome Quiet
Light, open, and rooted in place. This piece suits rooms that invite rest and attention. It carries the calm of a perfect spring afternoon in the park, when the blooms are high and the season still feels new.
