This is a portrait of Stephen Breyer, Associate Justice of the Supreme Court.
Born in 1938, he was nominated by Bill Clinton and confirmed in 1994 by a vote of 87 to 9, thus by senators representing 93% of the population of the US (DC excluded).
My goal was to capture some of his personality.
As I painted this, I listened to a few interviews with Justice Breyer. He's funny and charming, but also feels strongly about the mission of the court.
It's a small painting, but it feels right.
The original is 10" x 7" and I print these on an 11" x 8.5" with a 1/2 inch border on the top and bottom and a 3/4" border on the left and right.
The prints are absolutely stunning.
The prints are gorgeous, printed on Hahnemühle German Etching all-cotton archival 310 g/mA Paper so they fit in a standard frame.
