A Quiet Study of Architecture and Mystery After parking my bike near the Prospect Park Loop, I decided it was the perfect day to draw the Peristyle—a piece of architecture I had been meaning to capture for a while. As I worked, a man sat on the steps of the monument. He kept getting up, walking back and forth, then sitting down again. Despite the activity around us, with people running and cycling by, no one seemed to notice him. In the drawing, he’s depicted abstractly, blending into the scene like a ghostly presence.
Capturing the Stillness of an Active Space This piece explores the contrast between the grand, structured form of the Peristyle and the subtle, almost invisible presence of the man who shared the space with me. It’s part of my ongoing exploration of New York’s parks, where I capture the life and movement of the environment in quick, gestural strokes.
An Intriguing Addition to Your Collection This drawing would bring a sense of quiet intrigue to any space, perfect for those who appreciate the hidden stories within public spaces. The combination of architectural detail and the ghostly figure adds layers to the composition, making it a captivating focal point.
