A monumental presidency deserves a monumental portrait.
Joe Biden is quietly accomplishing extraordinary things, and yet, he's still not known to be, shall we say, cool. And most of the imagery around the president is quiet and understated. There's no Shepard Fairey Hope print, no will.i.am doing Yes We Can.
So I am setting out to change his image.
I think that Biden has serious old-school cool. He's cool like FDR or LBJ, cool like James Dean, cool because he gets shit done. And so, I set out to make a monumental portrait of him. The actual painting is 24" x 18". His head is roughly 1.5 times larger than in real life, and I used a number of techniques to create that sense of scale. He just feels impressive. I sell three sizes of prints, 22" x 17" (original size), 19" x 13", and 11" x 8.5". All are printed without border, and are designed to be framed in a floating fashion, so you see the edge of the paper.
And then I add tag lines.
I picture these prints as beautiful, old-school advertisements, the kind you might see for buying bonds, but there's something about the prints that just glow. You really get a sense of his personality, and what kind of leader he is.
The print is drop-dead gorgeous.
I am so excited about the quality of these prints. It's uncanny how they capture all the nuance and subtle coloration of the original. People who have seen these prints cannot believe that they are not looking at an original.
I use a top-of-the-line Epson printer with pigment ink that is tested to last 200 years. I print on Hahnemühle German Etching all-cotton archival 310 g/mA Paper.
You are buying art.
Each print is signed and numbered. I want these to be keepsakes that are passed on for generations.
