This is a portrait of a honey locust I often revisit in Fort Greene Park. Its branches twist and turn with elegant unpredictability, reaching outward like careful gestures. Now, in early spring, tiny leaves are beginning to emerge, adding gentle touches of color to its dramatic silhouette.
The drawing follows the rhythmic curves of the branches, capturing their dynamic form with quick brushstrokes and touches of watercolor. It’s an intimate study of line, gesture, and quiet renewal.
A Portrait in Gesture
Another entry in my Three Paper Project, done entirely on-site, with no revisions. The drawing reflects a spontaneous and clear-eyed observation of nature, exactly as encountered.
For Spaces That Celebrate Form
Perfect for rooms inviting quiet contemplation and appreciation of nature’s subtle complexity. This artwork captures a moment when structure meets the softness of spring.
