I met Richard standing in line at CHiPS. He admittedly lived a hard life, was in prison, but is now getting by. He comes to CHiPS for the food and so he "won't have to steal to eat." He referred to himself as an artist.

This piece is part of my upcoming exhibition – The Faces of CHiPs - What if God lived in Gowanus? – a series of studies and portraits of the people of CHiPs, a soup kitchen/residence that has served my neighborhood for 50 years. All proceeds from sales of paintings and prints will be donated to CHiPs to further their mission.

The Original is Framed. The Prints are Gorgeous.

The original is 17" x 14" and is sold framed in a 25" x 22" frame with matt.  The prints are beautiful accurate representations of the original, though slightly smaller (16" x 13"). I use Hahnemuhle German Etching paper and print right to the edges. The blacks are black, and the prints are virtually indistinguishable from the originals.
