She's the first woman, the first Asian American, the first African American to be elected in a national election.

And she deserves a good portrait. The thing about Kamala Harris is that she's actually quite hard to paint. She's both beautiful and distinctive, the structure of her face is uncanny in how it all works together. And her physiognomy fits her personality.

When I painted this, I was listening to her laugh.

When I paint portraits from photos, I listen to the person speak. And Harris is tough, well-prepared, unafraid to back down. But she also laughs with abandon, and it's disarming.

I've worked with a lot of lawyers (back in my business career), and the best lawyers spend a lot of time making you feel comfortable, before they go for the jugular. I'd hate to be negotiating with Harris on the other side. I'm glad she's on mine (and America's)

Over the term, I'll be making a number of studies around President's day each year.

I expect that her face will change over time. This is the first study, based on her official portrait as a senator. You can almost hear her laughing.

It's a small painting with a lot of heart.

The painting is only 10" x 7", but it has a lot of energy. It's a quick study; I only allow one day.

The prints are gorgeous.

I print this using a top-of-the-line Epson printer on archival Hahnemühle German Etching 310 g/mA Paper. I use pigment based inks that are certified to last over 200 years. It is uncanny how the print looks like the original.

The paper has a subtle texture on it that feels warm. Everyone who has seen these prints is amazed at how beautiful they are.

I am so excited to be able to provide something of such high quality at a reasonable price.

It fits in standard frames.

The original drawing is 7"x10", but the print has a 3/4" border on the left and right and a 1/2" border on the top and bottom, so the print fits in a standard 8.5" x 11" frame.

You will receive a signed and numbered print. I really think you'll like it (and it makes a great gift).
