Monumental Bike Protest Painting Study 2 - No Hands

The bicycle is the perfect protest vehicle.

It’s very nature, inexpensive and efficient, epitomizes individualism and freedom. A bike that you can carry into your apartment can take you hundreds of miles, without gas. In a country where fossil fuels and automobiles reign supreme, just using a bicycle to get around makes you part of the revolution.

This is my second study for a larger painting.

The study is based on a photo of a ride in Portland and there’s something about the energy of the rider raising his fist that caught my eye.

The print itself is beautiful.

I print this using a top-of-the-line Epson printer on archival Hahnemühle German Etching 310 g/mA Paper. I use pigment based inks that are certified to last over 200 years. It is uncanny how the print looks like the original.

The paper has a subtle texture on it that feels warm. Everyone who has seen these prints is amazed at how beautiful they are.

I am so excited to be able to provide something of such high quality at a reasonable price.

The original drawing is 10"x7", but the print has a .5" border on all sides, so the print is 11" x 8"

I am only printing 100.

Because I paint, scan, print, market, and ship these myself, I can keep the costs down. I'm not doing this to make money. My goal is to make great art and get it into the hands of collectors who will really appreciate it.
