Who knew that Jackson had a good side?

For a project I'm working on I needed a picture of Jackson's right side. I looked through all of my photos and such a picture does not exist. Jackson is kinda like the moon. Without taking extraordinary measures, it's impossible to see his other side.

So I did this test.

I took a camera with me and started taking pictures. When he sees the camera he turns away, and I only see his left side - the craziest thing. Eventually, I had to work with my wife who threw a ball, and I caught him when he set off running to get it. He truly does have a right side.

In this print, you can really see the motion.

He's about to run off, and you can feel it, his body mid lunge. This is as good as it gets for an old dog.

The prints are beautiful.

I print these on Hahnemuhle Heavy German Etching Paper using a high-end Epson printer and Pigment Inks rated for 200 years. The quality is truly outstanding. If you put it next to the original, you can't see the difference.

The actual painting is 14" x 20". I offer three sizes:

  • the largest is printed life sized on a 17" x 22" paper with a 1.5" border on the top and bottom and a 1" border on the left and the right.
  • the middle size is 13" x 19"
  • the smallest is 8.5" x 11"

Each print is signed and numbered.

Wild Birds - Anant Pradhan - Larry McDonald

Beautiful expressive print that captures a crucial historical moment perfectly!

If this moment in time had you worried about our democratic process and our continued fight for civil rights you will love this print!

The Big Rain Roses have not yet been hung -- they are leaning against a wall, waiting until my son moves out and I take over his room for office and crafting space. But the first day I saw these in morning light, I immediately smiled and thought to myself, "Confectionery!" The colors are both full and soft, the water-streaked effect is evocative, and the blue is particularly compelling (as seems to be the case in the Palm Court painting as well). My mother was a great lover of roses, but they are tricky to grow through Florida summers. These two prints give me both the memory of roses and the memory of my mom.

Palm Court, the painting takes me back to Palm Court, the place and my mind floods with all of the great memories of it.
